Process
As a team you will investigate the various Santa Claus traditions from around the world.
It is your job to find a Santa Claus tradition from Canada, Holland, Germany, and Japan.
Investigate: Pick one country from the following list:
Canada
Holland
Germany
Japan
During your investigation, ask yourself the following questions:
- What is the Santa Claus story from the country you have chosen?
- How do the people of that country celebrate Christmas?
- What food is eaten?
- What kinds of decorations are used?
- What other ways do the people celebrate Christmas?
- What do the children call Santa in these countries?
You will use this information to create a short story about Santa Claus from that country.
Print out the Santa stories to place it on the country map in the classroom.
