Process
It is now time for you to begin your WebQuest. Follow the directions listed below to help identify your personality type, possible career paths, and implications of job related stress.
Step 1:
Read through the following focus questions. Keep them in mind as you work through the content of the WebQuest. These are the questions that will help you focus and build your self-reflection paper at the end of the quest.
Focus Questions:
Personality Type:
• What is your personality type?
• What did you learn about yourself from the MBTI test?
• How did this information help you identify an appropriate career path?
• Did the test result match your expectations?
Career Test:
• What type of career options did the test suggest?
• Where any of the suggestions surprising to you?
• How did the test influence your career choice?
Job Related Stress:
• Based on the article why is it important to find a job that meets your interests and strengths?
• How do you think stress can negatively effect the workplace?
My Ideal Job
• Based on the information that you learned what would be your ideal job?
• What information helped you make this decision?
Step 2.
Read and review the attached article on job related stress from the American Institute of Stress. Keep in mind the focus question listed above as you read through the article.
Refer back the article as needed as you write your paper.
Step 3.
Follow the link below to take a Myers Briggs Personality test.
Once you have clicked on the link select one of the 3 statements that you most agree with for each group. While taking the exam do not over think, move through them quickly using your first instinct.
After completing all of the questions click on the "get my personality test results button".
When you have the results from your personality test use the links at the bottom of the page to explore what your results mean to you and what implications they have on a career choice. Also keep in mind the focus questions from Step 1.
Step 4.
In this step you will be taking a Career Life test that will help you learn what type of jobs will best fit with your strengths and skills.
To begin click on the take test link.
Fill in the information fields. Use an e-mail address and password that you remember later all other information can be entered at your discretion. If there is a required field that you do not feel comfortable answering ask the teacher for assistance.
Once the test is complete look through the results to help determine your Ideal Job. Keep in mind the Focus questions listed above.
Step 5.
Using the information that you have gathered you should now be prepared to write a two page self-reflection paper. Refer to the Focus Questions in Step 1 to help structure the paper. Also include any other pertinent information that you found interesting.
The paper should be written double spaced and included headings for the various sections. Use paragraph with proper grammar and spelling. Refer to the the evaluation tab for a the rubric that will be used in the grading process.
The teacher will be available for any question and assistance.
