Process
You have all been broken up into five groups:
Team Arctic, Team Atlantic, Team Indian, Team Pacific, and Team Southern.
As a scientist at sea your job is to dive in and find a topic that is interesting to you to focus on. Remember to look for things that are unique about your ocean. As you explore the following websites think about what aspect of your ocean appeals to you most.
I will give you time to discuss different topics with your team mates and I will meet with each group to discuss your choices with you. Once you have a topic email me with your choice, and an explanation of why you are interested in this topic and what you want to learn. This reflection will be graded, and although the importance is on what you are telling me, I will take be looking for well thought out sentences.

Mission 3
Congratulations! You have finished your research and reported your findings. Now it is time to gather with your team and decide how to best represent your ocean to the Sea World executives. As you know, Sea World is opening a new theme park called Ocean World. They are looking for original ideas for attractions to showcase the importance of the world's oceans and they have come to you for help.
As a group:
- Discuss what you have learned and choose a theme for the attraction.
- Decide what type of attraction you would like to present to the Sea World executives. Here is a link to the Sea World site so that you can see what they already offer in terms of attractions. Just click on Explore Sea World Sea World
- Brainstorm how you will make that attraction fit the theme you have chosen.
- Clearly detail how the park guests will come out of the attraction with new knowledge relating to the ocean.
- Decide how to present your attraction. You will have to come up with a visual of the attraction as well as a verbal explanation about what type of attraction it is, what the guests will experience, what the guests will learn, and how they will learn it. Remember to keep it fun and exciting!
- Send me an email at bok5055@psu.edu telling me your feelings about your Ocean Webquest. Share you thoughts on the steps involved and what you liked or did not like.I am looking forward to your feedback.
