The 15 Abstract Topics: Accepting Death, Alienation Because of Gender, Race, Class, Etc., American Values, Change, Family Relationships, Freedom and Independence, Hopefulness, Knowledge and Wisdom, Language as a Key to Identity, Money and Class in America, Nature, Passion and Responsibility, Pride and Self-Respect, Self-Deception, and Violence.

Your first task was to try to find which abstract topic interested you the most.You were to do some basic research. Next, you were asked to narrow your focus by asking three potential questions you'd like to pursue. Narrowing your focus is probably the most challenging aspect of the research process. So, here is some guidance!
