Teacher Process
To complete the total project, plan on scheduling a minimum of 2.5 weeks. This can be modified depending on the number of subjects you plan to incorporate into the project. I believe students need one full week to research, write, edit, and finalize their essay. The second week should be dedicated to students working on their presentation boards and oral presentations. I allot three days for oral presentations and the final group evaluation. Although, I have only included Social Studies and English within this WebQuest, I hope to incorporate both Science and Math to get a full cross-curricular project.
As students are working on the project I suggest walking around helping students with their research and editing papers. The project will get the most success if other teachers within your grade level work together and make the project a cross-curricular activity. The more support from teachers and class time for students to not feel rushed, the better.
Having internet and computer availability for all students is a necessity for this project.
