Teacher Process
This Webquest should take the students between three and four, 40 minute class periods to complete.
To make this a successful webquest, organize the students into groups of two. The students must work well with each other and compromise their ideas.
Students may spend too much time looking at different vacation destinations. Therefore, limit the search time to 20 minutes. After 20 minutes, tell students that they have to make a final selection on a destination and continue with the remainder of the project.
Before beginning this webquest, show students different brochures (you can ask students bring brochures to school) . Discuss the type and amount of information listed on each brochure. Ask the kids what they like and don't like about each brochure.
Students may need a lesson on persuasive writing before beginning this webquest. Review the importance of selecting the right amount of information and images to include in the brochure.
Review students graphic organizers before they begin making the brochure to assure that the required materials are listed and accurate.
