Process

You and your friend realize that you only have one chance to WOW your mom.  You decide to woo her with your technology and language arts skills by designing a Microsoft Word brochure.  Where do you want to go? and what will you visit when you are there?

Browes by state or sample travel ideas or visit the CBS website for travel suggestions. Travelocity offers great vacation suggestions too.

So you decided on a place.  You need to make sure that it meets your mom's goals.  Download a graphic organzier to help you keep track of your information.

Make sure the region of your vacation destination is different than New Jersey's region.  Research the local animals and climate of the state that you are visiting.  Make sure to find a great attraction to visit while there.

Airfare can be expensive, so you decide to visit a discount website.  You should leave from Newark Airport.  Make sure you search round trip tickets.  Find the best fare but remember you can only visit for one week during summer vacation.  The week you travel is up to you.

You will be staying in a Holiday Inn.  Make sure you find a hotel in the city you are visiting.

  1.  Look at the sample brochures the class has collected. What  style or format do you like the best. See how much information each brochure includes.
  2. Don't forget that your brochure is being used as an informative, persuasive tool. It must present information in a clear and organized manner. Make sure you provide enough information that the reader (your mom) won't be left wondering what she is looking at. Provide the most interesting facts, pictures and details.  Leave the reader wanting to learn more.
  3. Using Microsoft Word template, and transfer your ideas to the computer.
  4. Check spelling and use print preview to make sure everything is perfect!
  5. Save your work.
  6. Print your final design.
