Task

TASK:   1) Research at least 5 chemical discoveries or ideas from the past.  Make a chart or table. In column one: list each discovery or idea and  in column two: write about its impact on society, in column three: write how life would be different without this idea or discovery. 

2) Choose 1 of your discoveries from task one and write a short story or a poem or a draw and write a cartoon that encapsulates the discovery and its impact on the world. 

3) Research 2 current and future areas of chemical work.  Make a chart or table.  In column one: list the area of current/future work.  In column two: write about its potential for our society.  

4) Think about your work on previous tasks.  Imagine you can discover or develop the next big product or idea in chemistry.  What would it be?  What impact would it have on society?   BE CREATIVE !  USE YOUR IMAGINATION !!  Create an advertisement for this new product or write a 2-paragraph newspaper article announcing the discovery.
