Process

As the Music Director for the Exhibition, you need to pick music for the background soundtrack. The music needs to be non-lyrical and needs to compliment each artwork appropriately in conjunction with concepts i.e. texture, structure etc.

The music that you choose needs to relate in some way to the artwork chosen. You will need to analyse and discuss how the music reflects the artwork. This will be done using the concepts of music: structure, pitch, duration, tone colour, texture, dynamics and expressive techniques.

You will need to produce a 250 word written response, or 2 minute verbal presentation that discusses how the music reflects the artwork that you have chosen and why you have chosen that particular piece of music. The response needs to include how the artwork is reflected in the music through the six concepts of music: pitch, duration, texture, tone colour, structure and dynamics and expressive techniques.
