Task

If you open any history text book you'll find that many primary sources are incorporated which highlight and/or provide evidence to support what the text says.  You are a member of the editorial board for a new U.S. history text book.  Your group is in charge of the section dealing with Reconstruction.  The text explains that ultimately Reconstruction failed.  Your job is to decide which primary sources best highlight this fact and thus should be used.
