Teacher Process

  1. Explore the Library of Congress links before presenting this webquest to students.  Some of the links do not go directly to the sources; most have a 'View this item' link or can be enlarged in some way.
  2. Make sure students understand what primary sources are.  This is a helpful link
  3. Go over the following vocabulary words: disfranchise, mistrel show
  4. Go through the Introduction, Task, Process and Evaluation with the students.  (note: on the last task, 'Near what content would you place this source?' is asking students to think about where in the text this source should be placed)
  5. Collect both the Primary Source Analysis and the Proposal to Senior Editor forms.
  6. Decide how many points you want the Primary Source Analysis and the Proposal to Senior Editor forms to be worth.
