Teacher Process
Teachers Process:
This assignment should take about a week of class to complete. The students are responsible for watching videos on penguin habitats, researching penguins through the given websites, creating a floor plan for a habitat, and creating an oral report to other groups about their penguin choice.
STEP ONE:
1.) Assign students their groups and have them join their team members.
2.) Explain how to complete a webquest and your expectations.
STEP TWO:
1.) Allow enough time for students to watch all the videos and explore the given websites.
2.) Visit each group as they are going through the websites and deciding on a penguin species to do their report on. Be near the students in case any of the them have any questions or misconceptions about the project.
3.) Walk around the class to help keep students on task.
STEP THREE:
1.) Allow an ample amount of time for students to create their habitat for the penguin they have chosen.
2.) Make sure that all group members are participating in creating the habitat.
3.) Have students turn in their habitat for approval from the teacher.
STEP FOUR:
1.) Have students give their presentations to another group while keeping an eye on them all and making sure they stay on task
2.) Have the students peer evaluate each others' presentations.
3.) Make sure all students work is turned in and then have a discussion about the webquest. What did they like, dislike, what they learned, etc.
