Teacher Process
This lesson is designed to be carried out for 5 school days for as needed by students.
Day One:
- Review the elements of a story and the concept of fairness.
- Introduce the webquest assignment and break students into groups.
- Groups will be based on individual needs (ie. learning disabilities or ELLs)
- Allow students time to begin the webquest with their group members.
Day Two:
- Allow more time for students to work on webquest.
- Observe groups by walking around the room listening for understanding. Help where needed.
- Provide time for mini lessons or teacher feedback for those who have not fully grasped the lesson objectives
Day Three:
- Allow students to continue to working with groups to complete assignments.
- Encourage students to begin brainstorming their own fractured fairytale ideas.
- Help students by giving suggestions where needed to help with student understanding
Day Four:
- Give time for students to complete their fairytale and begin working on their class presentations.
- Provide last minute tips and details to students regarding their presentations.
Day Five:
- Group Presentations (this should be a fun day for the class)
