Teacher Process
I would estimate that this project would take 3 55 min. classes or 2.5 block classes ( 90 min. classes). This should include in class work time and presentations (at least 5 min.). Of course if you have a small class, you could have smaller groups and maybe cut the number of days to work on it. If you have a really large class you may also need to make time and number of people per group modifications. If you are limited on class time, have a 1 day work session and 1 day for presentations.
This would probably be an activity that you would only have time to do once. It might be fun to do before some sort of a break. I used India because I had the information readily available, so this could be done with any country/region.
As always, you will have to decide if the class will be able to handle this type of project by staying on task etc...
