Task
In this webquest, you will explore two main points of entry into the United States for people who immigrated between the 19th and 20th centuries. Through this research, and by reading interviews, you will meet immigrants and learn why they came to America. Their stories will tell you what the journey was like and what they experienced when they arrived in America.
At the end of your exploration you will pretend to be an immigrant to the United States. You will write a journal (3 entries, 1-2 paragraphs each) or write a story (at least 3-5 paragraphs) from the viewpoint of an immigrant. As you explore the websites think of the reasons why you would come to America, and how you feel throughout your journey.
