A Journey to the West

What to research?

Where to research?

How to present?

Letter

1.) Open a new Microsoft word document

2.) Use the correct format for a formal letter (including            heading, greeting, body, closing, and signature)

3.) Write a letter to President Jefferson telling him everything you saw on your journey and things you think he might want to know as president.

4.) Print two copies of the letter, one for each partner.

Brochure

1.)     Use Microsoft Publisher to create a brochure using one of the templates given.

2.) In the brochure, tell people information they would want to know about the west before traveling out there with their family. For example, The trip took 3 months by horse and was very rough on everyone.

3.) Print two copies of the brochure, one for each partner.

Flyer

1.) Make a flyer or poster telling what you discovered and saw on the adventure. The flyer should include photographs. The flyer could also be in the form of a cartoon strip.

2.) If making a flyer, print it on letter size printer paper. Make a poster with actual large size poster board.

3.) Print two copies of the flyer, one for each partner, or make only one poster.

Skit

1.) You and your partner will prepare a script of what you will say when you present your information to the present. This script should contain a lot of factual information about what you saw and experienced on the journey.

2.) Type the script in a new Microsoft Word document and print two copies to turn in.

3.) Perform the skit to the class as if they were President Jefferson.
