Process

The first step in the process is to familiarize yourself with some of the available information on global warming. The following list of sites should be helpful in answering the three questions in the task. While looking over all of the sites, you should have the questions in mind and be thinking about some relevant answers. Taking notes will be key to make things easier for you later. Here are the sites:

Wikipedia is often a good place to start researching:

Wikipedia - Global Warming

This site is well structured and deals directly with some of our questions:

Allianz Knowledge - Global Warming Basics

This video also deals directly with our questions. Pay specific attention to the potential consequences of global warming and to what we can do to help, both towards the end of the video. Use what they suggest in this video to do some of your own searching:

Now that you have a good idea of what global warming is, you can start organizing your answers. First, take out a sheet of paper to do a rough draft. Divide the paper into three columns, one for each question. Brainstorm all the ideas you have gathered from looking at all of the sites. This is where your notes will come in handy. You should try to include all of the answers that are relevant in your final product, but I would also like you to evaluate your answers. Choose which answers you think are most significant, and include some explanation why you think so.

For example, by this point you have probably seen that the number and strength of hurricanes is increased by global warming. The following link to a video is a helpful description of how hurricanes develop. Watch the video and think about how global warming effects the strength and frequency of hurricanes. How do hurricanes effect people? You can include whatever you take from this video in your final product, if you decide it is relevant. Just be sure to explain why you think so.

The idea in this step of the process is to create a rough draft and to evaluate all of the answers you have come up with. This step is important because it will make the organization of your final product easier, and it gives you a chance to make mistakes, and evaluate your own work before you hand it in.

The final step in the process is to creatively organize your answers onto the construction board. This is where the creative aspect of the assignment comes forward. Be sure to use visuals and make the board as visually appealing as you can. Make sure the final product has no grammatical errors, is well polished, and is visually stimulating and you will do well in the bottom two categories of the rubric.

You're ready to hand it in!
