Teacher Process

The process needed for creating this type of a lesson for me is the following:

  1. Find a WebQuest tool site that you can understand and is easy to use, such as "Quest Garden".there are plenty of ideas, suggestions and even sample web quests that will help and guide the teacher in creating their for one.
  2. For me, it was important to review different web quest posted on line so I could have an idea.
  3. I was not able to decide on a particular template , until I had a topic and an idea of what I wanted to do, and what I wanted my students to accomplish also. Once this is decided upon, choosing a template and style becomes a lot easier.
  4. Sit down and develop the task at hand, with specific questions to be answered. If this is going to be used as part of a lab, then specific instructions /. steps to be followed must be established.
  5. Make a list of vocabulary or key words students must be familiar with.
  6. Decide if a handout, checklist and any supplies are to be made available for the student prior to the quest.
  7. Search the web for sites that will be the sources for the students to find the answers for their task. Write down these sites URL address to be included in their task page
  8. Explain the process clearly for students to follow.
  9. Establish a rubric for the evaluation process, so students know what is expected from them.
  10. Once all the above are in place, you are ready to start your Web Quest by simply following the template chosen step by step instructions.
  11. Also write a short introduction for your students, your experiences for other teachers to read about your quest.
  12. Also should be included the standards, objectives and the type of learners this Web Quest is going to address.
  13. Then, relax and have fun creating your Web Quest.
  14. Since this is my very first Web Quest, I am sure that the next time I create another, my suggestions for this process will be improved and more detailed.
