Students will gather information from conflicting viewpoints as to whether there should be less strict border laws or more strict border laws concerning migration from Mexico to the USA. After researching both points of view, they will take a stand and by using a medium persuade class members to join their cause on this issue.
Teacher Introduction
This lesson has been designed to help students research both sides of a controversial topic and come to a conclusion as to where they stand on the topic. Empowerment will be achieved as students learn to access and discern information, to develop a deeper understanding as they present their opinion, and persuade their classmates towards their opinion.
