This is my 27th year to teaching.  I have taught in ND, CA, Guam, VA, and NC.  I've been following around my Navy wife for the last 18 years.  I currently teach computer science and business classes here at Kinnick High school Yokosuka, Japan. It has been very exciting working for the Department of Defense school systems for the past 11 years. I hope to earn my masters degree in Curriculum development and apply this knowledge to teaching robotics in elementary school. My goal is to improve higher level thinking skills with the use of robots in the classroom.

Sarah Williams

I am currently living in Germany.   I am a wife of 4 1/2 years to a firefighter in the Air Force.  We have been living in Germany for 8 months now.  I am also a mother to a beautiful boy who is 3 1/2 years old.  I love to play with my son and laugh at all the funny things he says and does.  I am a very big reader, mostly historical fiction but also enjoy the typical romance book.

I received my Bachelors in Education, from Concordia University in Nebraska.  I also have my Lutheran Doctrine Degree which qualifies me to teach in a Lutheran School.  I have been teaching for 6 years.  My passion is to teach middle school students.  They have such a desire to be accepted and to learn.  I am currently not teaching; although, I am on the subbing list for the middle school here in Germany. It is very difficult to get a job overseas for military spouses!  I am working as an AVID tutor for the middle school here on base. This past summer, I completed the curriculum outlining for the 7th and 8th grade English and Language Arts Department for my old school back in the states.  I aligned the state standards with assignments, activities, and assessments.

My career goal is very simple: Always do something that I love and that is going to challenge me.  I never want to get bored with what I am doing.  I have always known that I wanted to be a teacher and now I am to the point in my life that I want something more than teaching.  I believe that this C&I Masters program will give me that something extra.  Right now I am planning on just getting my masters in C&I and when I get back to the states add the other classes under the English and Language Arts C&I program.

Colleen Zajac

My name is Colleen Zajac and I recently am a new mother. My husband and I are loving parent to our eight month old baby. Over the past four years, I?ve had the opportunity to teach young children professionally. I?ve accomplished my dream of becoming a teacher from a very young age. I plan to improve and become an even more marketable teacher by completing a master?s degree in education.

My husband and I own our home in Michigan, which is south of the Detroit area. We?ve both lived in Michigan our entire lives. On our wedding day two and a half years ago, we received 12 inches of snow the morning of our big day! However, it was a beautiful sight. When we're both not busy working, we enjoy spending time with our son, walking our dog Snoopy, shopping, and visiting our families and friends. Four years ago I graduated from the University of Michigan with a Bachelor of Arts in Elementary Education. My credentials and experience as a classroom teacher has prepared me for many upcoming challenges that may take place in my life.

I currently work at the Academy of Detroit-West Redford School. I?ve worked as a second grade teacher for two years and a third grade teacher for two years as well. My experience has given me a sense of achievement. My ability to help students learn has allowed me to have a great impact on their lives. I feel it is crucial to create a positive, energetic, and constructive learning environment for all of my students.

In order to continue my education, I felt attending the University of Phoenix was a great decision to help me develop professionally. This online program is not only convenient, but will also further my education. It has fit into my new lifestyle since my baby was born. I?ve heard many positive things from previous students as well as my remarkable enrollment counselor and academic counselor. I look forward to experiencing not only the life of a student again, but also the many challenges life has to offer
