1. Decide which book your group would like to focus on for the WebQuest.

2. Read the book individually or as a group.
3. Decide who will complete each job during the WebQuest.
Follow the steps below that are listed under your job.
Author Investigator
1. Print off the graphic organizer to record the information you collect during your research.
2. Think of 3 questions you would like to answer about Jan Brett. Write your questions on your graphic organizer.
3. Begin your research about Jan Brett by reading an interview with Jan Brett on Scholastic's website:

2. You will be visiting some sites that are related to the animals in the book your group chose. Choose one animal to research and explore the websites for that animal.

The information that you gather during the webquest will then be presented to the class in one of the final product options below.
You will have the opportunity to choose which project you would like to create.
Group Presentation
As a group each member will present their final product to the class and as a group share the five most interesting facts your group learned while completing the webquest.
Final Product Options
A book that compiles the information you learned using illustrations similar to Jan Brett's illustrations that incorporate pictures on the side to predict what is going to happen next in the story.
Poster that represents what you learned. Using illustrations/pictures and represents information you found important during your research.
Book Jacket: Includes a summary of the information you gathered, about the author, and illustration on the front cover.
Write your own story that uses elements of the information gathered during the webquest.
*Each group member is also responsible for completing the graphic organizer for their role.
