Task

 Students,

Your task is to create a project using the Ramona series books we have discussed in school.

STEP ONE: Pick your book from the three listed below!

      * Ramona Quimby, age 8

      * Ramona's World

      * Ramona the Pest

STEP TWO:  Follow the web page posted for each book, on the PROCESS PAGE.  This is where you will review the book to make sure you are fully prepared for your project.

STEP THREE:  On the same web page, choose an activity to do, and print it out to include in your final project folder.

STEP FOUR:  By now you should be pretty familiar with your storyline.  This is where you will use your creativity!  Brainstorm your ideas from what you know about your book, and think about how you would end the story if you were the author.  Now, write a two page ALTERNATIVE ending to the story. You can end it however you want, but make sure the characters make sense!

STEP FIVE:  You are nearing the end of your project!  Finally, choose one of the characters in the book and descibe them. Be sure to answer the following questions, and write your response in a ONE PARAGRAPH essay.  When you are finished, put your artistic talents to use by drawing a picture of your character.  You may use colored pencils, crayons or markers to complete your picture.

QUESTIONS:

1. What would the story be like if this character weren't in the book?

2. Do you think this character adds a little something special to the story?

3. What are some of his or her characteristics?

4. Is the character like you in any way?  How is he/she different from you?

5. Why did you choose this character for your project?

STEP SIX:  Okay students, your project is complete!  Your last step is to proofread your essays for spelling errors, grammar mistakes, and overall completion.  Make sure it is neatly done, and I can read it clearly.

When you have made all of your corrections, and your project is done, you will need to hand everything in together in the folder that you were given in school. Double check to make sure you don't leave anything out!
