Task
Students will work in various roles as described to research the necessary elements for creating a backyard wildlife habitat here on our campus. We have an unique area on our school property that once was a beautiful nature setting, but through lack of maintenance and general disinterest has become an overgrown eyesore. Let's take back this area, beautify it with native plants that will attract wildlife, be as self-sustaining as possible, and create a natural wildlife habitat that our school can use as a learning tool and beautify our school grounds at the same time.
Once created through our class research and development, we will seek to have our new wildlife habitat certified by the National Wildlife Federation, in Virginia, as a Backyard Wildlife Habitat that will be identified by a sign displayed in the habitat designating it as such, recognizing the efforts of our class.
