Teacher Introduction

There are few texts that have the ability to stand the test of time and still entertain generations of children and adults. Lewis Carroll's, Alice in Wonderland, written one hundred and thirty years ago, is one such story. It is a unique tale filled with adventure and imagination. There are many who view this novel as a childish tale with whimsical creatures and quirky vernacular. However, when one investigates deeper into the text, the reader discovers the lessons and morals that Lewis Carroll embedded within his word. Students will have a chance to interpret Carroll's creativity and use their own to write themselves into the story.

This Webquest will examine the morals, plot, setting, and characters found in the book Alice's Adventures in Wonderland. Students will research Lewis Carroll and various illustrators of his work in order to assist them in their completion of the assignment.

Students will express their visual and kinesthetic talents by drawing their own illustrations for each chapter based on what they've learned about plot, setting, and meaning. They will identify the themes and lessons for each chapter to show the teacher comprehension was achieved.
