Opening the student's minds to the possibility of starting and running their own business.

Teacher Introduction

I teach at risk students at a charter school for grades 7-12.

Many of the students are not college bound. For quite a few it's a struggle for  them  to complete what they need to graduate high school.  They come to us severely behind in credits. Some have missed significant instruction time due to pregnancy, rehab, incarceration, illness, trauma or  truancy. Others just have not been able to pass their classes, sometimes due to the reasons above, sometimes learning problems. During their initial orientation we have them write about their dreams for the future. An amazing number of them want to own their own business. I hope that this experience might give them some tools, knowledge, and confidence to achieve that goal.
