Process

 In this webquest, your goal is to propose a layout for a brochure.  You will be using a thin and bendable 22X28ʺ poster board as your brochure.  You will fold this board in a tri-fold manner.  In the front of this board (brochure) you must include the following: your names, class, picture of the country, the name of the country, the flag, and an overall quote that describes and promotes tourism. Please follow the step-by-step directions below:

Your brochure must include Location, Geography, History, Arts, Entertainment, Attractions and Food.  The front of your brochure must have a picture to depict the place you have chosen.  Please attach or write a bibliography on the back page of your brochure. 

* Every sheet that you complete must be turned in with your final project.

Research Directions: 

1.      Find below list countries and sources. LISTOFCOUNTRIESANDSOURCES

2.      Confirm your choice with the teacher and make sure that another group did not choose your country.

3.      After clicking on the list of countries and sources found in number 1, start researching your country by visiting the websites provided. 

4.      For each website you visit, fill-out a "Role" sheet. The "Role" sheets can be found by clicking on the roles found below. 

6.      Each person must research a minimum of 5 websites; one of which you must find on your own.

7.      For the website that you find on your own, you must fill-out the SOURCE worksheet along with filling out your regular role sheet.

Completion Directions:

1.  After having researched all 5 sources and filling out your worksheets, it is now to re-join your groups.

2.  Each group member should choose a completion role.  Make sure that throughout this webquest you fufill your job.

3.  First, summarize the information that you found in each source.

4.  After summarizing with your group, each person should star information that you would like to include in your webquest.

5.  Each person should fill-out this GRAPHIC ORGANIZER to clearly plan what they will include in their part of the brochure. 

6.  Open the graphic organizer link.  In the middle circle write your role.  Use the square to write out information that must be included in the brochure.

Each team member has one page/side of the brochure to show the information found. 

7.  After completing this organizer, you can start working on your actual poster board. 

8.  After the completion of your brochure, work together to devise a plan or script on how you will present your brochure.  Make sure each team member is clear on what they will present.

Research Roles:

 Historian:

Your job is to study the history of the people of your specific country.  You are to write about the notable people and landmarks found in your country.  Think about the art and museums that people should visit. Your job is to discover and write on this topic!

 Geographer:

Your job is to study and write about many different aspects of your specific country.  You must study the geography, climate, wildlife, and economics of the country.  Think about the people and their culture; how will you positively portray this in your brochure so that people may want to visit the country?

 Entertainment critique: 

Your job is to write about all the fun stuff that one might find in your country! Talk about the events, the restaurants and much more.  You can talk about the peoples' hobbies (the beaches, movies, arts and so on). You must display the entertaining aspects of your country: What can we enjoy if we go there?

 

 

Completion Roles:

 Team Manager:

As the team manager, your task is to make sure that everyone stays on task.  You are in charge of making sure that all the parts of the assignment are completed.  Make sure all graphic organizers are completed. You are to voice any concerns that the group has to the teacher.  You will oversee the whole project and help your group members to stay on track!

 Content Specialist:

As the content specialist, your job is to make sure that the content of your brochure is accurate!  Your responsibility is to make sure that all team members stay accountable for their specific parts and that they have a record of what sources they used in order to find their information.  You are to spell-check the information that is put in the brochure. 

 Brochure Designer:

As the brochure designer you are in charge of the artistic value of your brochure.  Remember that you are making your country appealing to the board; from the pictures your team have found you must oversee the process of selection of what will appear on the brochure.   You are to make sure that there is a clear organization of your brochure.
