Task
First put your 2008 Presidential Election Journal together by following your teacher's instructions. Color the cover beautifully, put your name on it, and make sure you keep it in a safe place where it won't get lost. You will be filling in the pages of your journal independently at your own pace in either your free time or in the times your teacher has set aside for this project. You will use the web sites provided to gather you information and then respond in your journal.
Next you will be assigned to a group of three students. You will need to decide on the roles each team member will take and then begin your research into the current presidential election using the online links provided and the newspapers provided in the classroom. You will discuss and agree on all the findings of each team member and then work together to design a 2008 Presidential Campaign scrap book using the information you found.
Lastly, you get to pretend YOU are the new president! You will complete an online writing activity where you will balance the federal budget, tell us who your important advisers will be and tell us what your top priorities are as president of the United States.
