Task
Each team will explore three websites as a group, followed by discussion of the websites "truthfulness." The team will then follow the links to websites which discuss good website evaluation skills. Then the team members will again visit each of the original sites and evaluate them using the Site Evaluation Form. Each member of the team will present his findings to the team for his website and the team will then vote on whether or not the website is acceptable as a reliable and valid source of information. You and your team will then work together to create a Group Report that presents your team's answer to the Quest. After determining amongst the group members which of the sites were valid, a tally is presented to the class stating which websites were acceptable. The group with the most correct answers wins By completing this WebQuest, you should achieve the following goals: 1) learn information about key aspects of Information Literacy; 2) formulate and support an informed opinion based on your evaluation; and 3) work with teammates to successfully complete the assigned tasks.
