Students learn that, because anyone can publish on the Web, they must carefully evaluate the sites they use for research. They review evaluation criteria and use a checklist to "grade" informational sites. After evaluating websites they present to their classmates the findings of their team.

Teacher Introduction

This webquest is a response to all the information my students have shared with me that is "true" because they found it on the internet. After exclaiming "you've got to be kidding!" numerous times, I determined that a webquest addressing good website evaluation skills would be beneficial for my students. These sites are fun to explore and are both realistic and convincing. I hope your classes have as much fun as we did dissecting these "truths" from the web!
