Process
Work in small groups to follow the clues (but worksheets must be done individually):
1. Clue #1: Open Instrument Storage to enter an instrument storage room, locate the following instruments and indicate whether they are woodwind, brass, strings, or percussion:
Flute _____________ Clarinet ______________
Saxophone _____________ Trumpet ______________
Trombone _____________ Tuba ______________
Drum _____________ Cello ______________
Violin _____________ Bassoon ______________
String Bass _____________
2. Got them all?? Great! Retrieve the instrument worksheet and draw lines matching the instrument picture to the instrument name to help you remember all of them. Open and complete (Worksheet #1).*
3. Clue #2: Now that you found the types of instruments you need, open
(Instrument Match Game) to play the memory match game. This will help you remember what each instrument looks like.
4. Oh no, where did the instruments go? Someone filled our room with too much stuff and the instruments disappeared. Retrieve the “Instrument Word Search" worksheet, find the instruments on the list and circle all of them with your pencil. Open and complete
5. Clue #3: Good job - you've found all of them and matched everything together. Now open (Instrument Frenzy), then when the screen pops up, click again on the words "Instrument Frenzy" in the top row and play the game to hear what each instrument sounds like.
6. Way to go – you’re job is almost complete. To collect your reward and win fame, open (Create an Orchestra) and put your orchestra together. Then you can hear and share the beautiful music you’ve created with the rest of the class.
