This lesson is designed for middle school language arts. Students will help plan, organize, and participate in a Medieval feast as a citizen from the common or noble class in the Middle Ages. The villagers (6th grade) will create a new identity, prepare a menu for a feast, and entertain the royals with a ballad.

Introduction

Have you ever wondered what it would be like to live in a different time? What if you could travel into the past? Where would you go? What would you do?

Imagine what life was like for the average person during the Middle Ages,  a time of  knights and armor, castles, kings and queens, and even the Black Death?  We will be reading some selections that are set in Medieval times and learning about how life was different in those days.
