Your job, if you answered a, b, c, or d is to form a team of three (truly, even if you chose e, you are still stuck doing this job!).

Each of you will hold a separate job but all of you will be teachers and editors.  The jobs: mathematician, author, and illustratorTogether, you will write and illustrate a 10-15 page book to teach one of the following concepts to a class of either 3rd graders, 4th graders, or 5th graders.  You should choose one of these concepts to write your book about - checking with me before you begin:

1.    Adding and subtracting fractions with                                    unlike-denominators.

2.    Multiplying fractions with whole numbers.

3.    Multiplying two fractions.

4.    Dividing fractions by whole                numbers.

5.    Dividing two fractions.

6.    Finding the Least Common Denominator (LCD).

You will use the Internet, PowerPoint presentations, and other resources to reinfore your own knowledge about the concept, find ideas for your book, and find ideas on how to write books for children.  In addition to teaching your concept to an elementary class of school children, you will also teach your concept to our class.

With your team you will decide on a concept, brainstorm ideas, and choose a job.  Please click on the word PROCESS up top and to the left to view the three roles you will each choose.
