Finally, you get to be the teacher. In a team of three, you will teach either a 3rd grade, 4th grade, or 5th grade class how to add, subtract, multiply, and divide fractions.
Teacher Introduction
Welcome fellow math teachers! As many of you already know, fractions scare kids...yes, scare them! This WebQuest was designed to alleviate that fear...to have them face it dead on and conquer it...to have them research different lessons on the operations with fractions, write a book on it, and teach it. And as we all know, we never truly learn something until we have to teach it to someone else. That being the case, my students will have to learn the four operations of fractions well enough to teach it to an elementary class. Of course, I did not design this lesson by myself. I borrowed heavily from other WebQuests...the main two being: "Not Impossible Fraction Mission," by Sally Kleinknecht and Dina Shipley. I also borrowed from "Fractions Being Illustrated," by John Crabtree. Thank you Sally, Dina, and John!
