The Web of the late 90's is an old man now. Witness the rebirth of the Web as our youth of today see it, or should we say, "interact" with it!

Teacher Introduction

Teachers and preservice teachers (teacher-candidates) are the intended audiences for this WebQuest. Why?  In order for you to better understand "Web 2.0", "Digital Natives", and implement alternative forms of assessment, you must first have been through the experience yourself from a student's perspective.

The topic of "Web 2.0" was chosen because of its relevancy to today's "digital natives".  In selecting this topic a a WebQuest for educators to explore as they develop their WebQuest, technology is being seamlessly integrated, not taught in isolation.  Therefore, the teacher/learner isn't just being taught "how to do a WebQuest".  The teacher/learner is being guided through the process of developing a webquest experience for children using "Web 2.0" as a relevant topic to better understand:

  1. WebQuest development while learning more about...
  2. Web 2.0 to better understand...
  3. Digital Natives, a term often associated with today's students

That's seamless integration, not merely "teaching computers" - the thought of which is nauseating!
