Task
Working in groups of four assigned by the teacher, you will learn about Geologic Time, Rocks and Fossils, focusing on a specific time period selected by the teacher.
Your group will first research Geologic Time, Rocks, and Fossils by going on a Discovery Journey via the Internet. Each student will record their findings in their personal Journal.
After completing the Discovery Journey, the group will compile their collected information on the Storyboard. The group will then create a Digital Story that tells us about your time period from the perspective of a rock. The story will be fictional, but must contain important facts uncovered in your Discovery Journey Dig and recorded in your Journals. Stories can be written to tell how it felt when dinosaurs walked on you, histories of fossils uncovered within you, and important geological events you witnessed. Be sure to check the Rubric for what is expected of you.
Finally, your group will do a Presentation of your rock story to the class, sharing what you have learned about your time period with the whole class using the Narration template.
