This webquest is intended for students in grade 3. This activity would be part of any English Language Arts curriculum. Engaging in this webquest would be most beneficial after the students have particpated in a genre study that featured fables. They must be aware of the characteristics of fables from read-alouds, shared reading, or the independent reading of fables. The tasks within this webquest attempt to connect reading skills with writing skills by having students create their very own fables at the end of a classroom genre study of fables. This webquest contains examples of fables/fable characteristics, but it assumes that students have participated in a more in-depth fable genre study in class.
