Teacher Process

This webquest was designed for students to work independently and in small groups over a period of 4 weeks for math or social study course. Students use their free time to do this webquest (i.e., when students have finished regular coursework early). 

Here are some possible modifications. 

 

If you have access to a computer lab on a regular basis you can have your entire class participate in the webquest at the same time. Students can spend 2-3 class periods researching their assigned role. A class period (not in the computer lab) discussing the merits of the different options within their group and writing up thier justifications. A final 1-2 class periods should be adequate to create a powerpoint presentation. Presentations could be shared in-class.

 

Students can create thier own presentation by hand. Text can be written out or typed and illustrations can be drawn by hand or cut from brocures. Two days to create this presentation should be allowed for unless it is to be made as a homework assignment.
