Part 1: Beginning Group Work

Before you begin your job as a Tall Traveler, Stretch Detector, Humor Hunter or Memory Mapper, check out some trading cards with your group. In addition to the ones you have brought to share with the class, visit the following websites to see how trading cards are used to share important facts about people, places and events.

Baseball trading cards are some of the most popular types of cards for collecting and trading. Visit this site to learn a brief history about baseball cards: http://www.baseballcardchase.com/origin-and-history-of-baseball-cards-389

These sites show you even more examples of the many types of cards that have been collected and traded throughout history:

Step 3: Final Group Work

Great! Your group is ready to share the millions of details you gathered (yes, that was an exaggeration!). Oversized Creations wants specific information on the new Tall Tall Team trading cards. To help you organize the details for each character, work as a group to answer the questions below. These are the details that will appear on each character's trading card.

  1. Where did this character live and/or travel?
  2. What is the most extreme exaggeration about this character?
  3. What is the most humorous event involving this character?
  4. What is the most memorable saying, action or characteristic of this character?

Now you're ready to print four copies of the T3: Tall Tales Team trading card template. Follow the directions on the template to create your trading card.

When your trading cards are complete, click Conclusion on the left.
