This webquest will assist 7th grade students discover the Gods, Godesses, Creatures and Heroes of Greek Mythology.

Teacher Introduction

Getting students interested in Greek Mythology is easy.  Afterall, most students are intrigued when you show them a picture of Medusa or tell them  they are going on a field trip to the Underworld.  I introduced my students to Greek Mythology by doing a read aloud of Rick Riordan's The Lighting Thief.  Half way through the novel, the majority of them had purchased the book and were reading along in class.  After we finished, several purchased the last two in the series.  This lesson will introduce students to the major characters and concepts of Greek Mythology.  Students will have the opportunity to discover different concepts and focus on the one they are most interested in.
