Introduction

On page 5, Zits says:

"Yes, I am Irish and Indian, which would be the coolest blend in the world if my parents were around to teach me how to be Irish and Indian. But they're not here and haven't been for years, so I'm not really Irish or Indian. I'm a blank sky, a human solar eclipse."

Zits is half Native American and half Irish and knows very little about either culture. He bounces from foster home to foster home and has little memories of his family.

So what does Zits know about who he is?

This webquest will take you on a journey, or rather a "flight" to understand the theme of "identity" in Sherman Alexie's Flight. You will explore the ideas of self-identity, cultural identity and how one struggles when they are unsure of who they really are.
