This assignment would be best used with 12th grade students preferably AP or honors students. The class should be familiar with Shakespeare's works and have read at least one of his plays in this class in it's entirety. The research of this project will help broaden students understanding of the Elizabethan time period and the audience to whom Shakespeare was writing to. This background knowledge will help students be able to identify to a famous character from this time period as well as a character from a Shakespeare play. The analysis of the time period will broaden the students understanding of Shakespeare's language.
