This WebQuest is designed for students who are reviewing for the Virginia Standards of Learning Algebra I Test. It gives students the opportunity to create their own Algebra I Test. Students will review the Virginia Standards of Learning while comparing them to the standards of other states in the U.S by looking at sample test questions from other states, linking those questions to the Algebra Standards of Learning, and rewriting their own, (but similar), questions. At the end of the WebQuest, teachers will have a pile of questions to create a review lesson for their students.

Introduction

It is time for the Algebra I SOL Test!

However, the Virginia Department of Education has a problem...

The computer that contained all of the Algebra I tests, crashed!!!  The only information that remains is the Algebra I Standards, but all of the test questions have been lost!

The Virginia Department of Education is in a panic, and they do not have time to rewrite all of the test questions.  The Department has decided to ask Algebra I students for help.

After must consideration, the Virginia Department of Education has picked your class to rewrite the Algebra I test questions, because you are some of the brightest Algebra I students in the state of Virginia!

Luckily, there are sample test questions from the Department of Education of other states in the U.S.  Using these samples as references, you will be able to use the Virginia Algebra I Standards as a guideline to rewrite the Algebra I test!

You are about to make history, so get excited!
