Task
Creatively and ethically speaking, what is photographic truth? Journalistic truth?
"The Shallot" WebQuest inspires you to understand the meaning of photographic truth and journalistic truth, along with the importance that the public places on each. You will then examine how each can be challenged by parody, which often utilizes some level of appropriation. Through creating your own parody image and news story as a contribution to a class newspaper, you will educate your peers, and develop a personal ethical viewpoint.
This WebQuest will strengthen your digital image manipulation skills, utilizing Adobe Photoshop or GIMP (GNU Image Manipulation Software). Access to these programs, as well as Microsoft Word and web access are required to successfully complete this project.
