Process

1. Your teacher will assign you to a group. Each of you has a job within the group:

2. Within your group, choose which Utah city you would like to research.

City options:

3. Print the city background worksheet. Read through each question carefully so that you know what information to look for on the website.

4. Click on your city above to link to a website about your city. All the information you need is on the first screen, although you may need to scroll down to 'climate'. You may now fill out the city background worksheet.

5. Print the forecast recording worksheet.

6. Look up today's weather for your city by clicking here and typing in your city's name. Record today's forecast on the forecast recording worksheet. Now, look at the 7-day forecast and record that information also.

7. You are now ready to print the weather graph worksheet and create your own graph.

Weather anchors, you are now ready to prepare for tonight's news broadcast.

8. Use construction paper to make the weather symbols to place on your map. Remember to only make the symbols you need for each day of your specific forecast.

9. Print the weather report guide to help you write your script for tonight's news broadcast. Each group member must speak/read during the broadcast, decide who will take which part.

10. As a group, decide on an introduction (example:"Welcome to the Woodrow Wilson weather"), decide in what order you will speak, and a closing line (example: "This has been the Woodrow Wilson weather. Thank you.") Don't forget to practice!

11. You are now ready to present your weather forecast to the class. (Don't forget to smile for the camera!)
