Task

Students will be grouped together and will work through each of the four tasks cooperatively.  By doing this, they will all gain an in-depth understanding of the life of those connected to the Underground Railroad.  Students will work together to create presentations, research information, and compile projects to demonstrate understanding and comprehension of the material.

The four tasks categories are:

Conductor (research escape routes)

Slave (research hidden codes for escape)

Slave Owner/Abolitionist (explore slave songs from perspective of abolitionist and slave owner)

News Reporter (research the life of Harriet Tubman)
