Students will work in assigned groups to research one of the five major world religions. By the end of this WebQuest, students will not only be able to describe the beliefs of the major world religions, they will be able to compare and contrast those beliefs.
Teacher Introduction
An important aspect of the Global History and Geography course is to show the importance and acceptance of religions and cultures different from each student. This WebQuest prepares students to understand the major characteristics of the five major world religions- Hinduism, Buddhism, Judaism, Christianity, and Islam. Not only will students be able to create charts and mind maps to show their understanding, they will determine and evaluate each religion to create their own. By creating their own religion, students are not being selective based on stereotypes, they actually have an understanding of each aspect of each religion. This promotes tolerance and diversity by educating the student.
