This quest is for 3rd graders. It is mainly for Social Studies on the study of Native Americas from Utah: Ute, Eastern Woodlands, Plains, Great Basin, Southwestern, however any tribe can be used with it. It is mainly for 3rd or 4th grades. Make sure that when making the groups that your low kids get paired with slightly higher than them. Higher kids with slightly lower kids. That way not all high kids are paired with all low kids. When students are writing journals they can use pictures instead of words that will work well with the ESL students as well as the low kids.
An into of Inspiration will be helpful before students begin this quest. Also an understanding of Power Point and how to make a presentation.
In 3rd grade students begin to learn to write in cursive so you may require their journals to be in cursive, however the Native American journal would not. You could also bring in Native American picture writing, however that would be up to the teacher.
