Task
You are now a member of Utah's congress. You have learned fast that Utahns have many needs! As Utah grows bigger and bigger one of the most important thing we need is WATER! You will need to decide on a bill that asks to put a dam on the Bear River (the river that runs into the Great Salt Lake) to provide water to the growing population along the Wasatch Front. This dam may impact some of the most important wetlands to Utah. You know that these kinds of decisions are not made lightly. They require research!

In this webquest you will:
-
Split into groups of two. One partner will research wetland plants. The other partner will research animals in wetlands. You will come back together and share what you learned.
-
From there, you will learn about Utah's population together.
-
You will then split up and research both sides of the proposal to put a dam on the Bear River. One of you will research the side that wants to put it in and the other partner will research the side that does not want the dam put in. You will fill out an information sheet on what you learn.
-
You will come back together and decide what you are going to vote on as a member of congress. You will create a presentation on what side you chose and why and will present your opinion to the class.
