This WebQuest involves students in learning about sound, including wave properties and the traveling of waves through a barrier. Students use decibel meters to find the best sound barrier for their bedroom.

Teacher Introduction

 

This WebQuest involves students in determining the best sound barrier for their bedroom. Students visit recommended websites to learn about what sound is and how sound waves travel as well as complete an activity with tuning forks to learn more about sound waves. Students will then experiment with materials of their choice using decibel meters to determine which material would be best for creating a sound barrier in their bedroom. Students share their results with the class via PowerPoint presentation.
