Task
In a group of 6-8 students you will research one of the following social problems that Stanley encountered in Holes:
- Bullying;
- Homelessness;
- Illiteracy.
As a group reflect on what you learned about the problem and then find a way to address the issue in this community (e.g. West Bath School, West Bath, or the mid-coast region of Maine). As you come up with possible ideas think of it this way: "What can we do, as 6th graders, to help solve this problem?" Keep in mind that these are big issues and you will not be able to solve it, but you can make a difference.
